Holistic & Spiritual tourism

Holism and spirituality have been integral part of life since the beginning. In our understanding spirituality does not (necessarily) mean religion, and TOHWS does not intend to cover religious tourism or pilgrimage. According to AHHA (2007) the defintion of holistic refers to the following issues:

  • Balance and integrate your physical, mental, emotional and spiritual aspects

  • Establish respectful, cooperative relationships with others and the environment

  • Make wellness-oriented lifestyle choices

  • Actively participate in your health decisions and healing process.

Holistic and spiritual travellers and are looking for inner peace and personal development. They can achieve that in numerous forms from remote ashrams and retreats, to luxury hidaways.
